Many Seek Office as Filing of Names End
Chief Interest Rests in Race for Office of Sheriff Here
With the expiration of the time for filing petitions for county officials,last evening, it became definitely known that the chief interest in the primary election for county nominations on August 20 will be in the race for sheriff.
Four Democrats and three Republicans are in the face for the respective nominations.
Great interest also centers in the race for county commissioner for the two-year term, two candidates from each party seeking this nomination. Candidates running without opposition from any party are Dr. C. E. Stevenson, Republican, for coroner, and Anna B. Smith, Democrat, for county treasurer.

Announcement
I hereby announce my candidacy for county commissioner for the two-year term on the Democratic ticket, subject to the primaries, August 20.
In making my announcement, I pledge myself to every view outlined by the Democratic party and to a full enforcement of the laws.

Mrs. George Babione
Mrs. George S. Babione died Friday evening at 419 Bukett, age 38 years, five months and 11 days. Funeral services will be held Monday afternon at Reed's funeral parlors conducted by Dr. M. DeWitt Long.
Mrs. Babione has been ill for some time. Her home was near Acme but she had come to Sheridan for treatment and died here.

Golden Wedding is Observed by Aged Mead Creek Couple
Mr. and Mrs. Cal Jennings of Mead creek celebrated their golden wedding on Thanksgiving day. About 156 neighbors surprised them by gathering at the home of
the couple with a thanksgiving dinner. One hundred dollars was donated and a cow was purchased of William Babione and presented to Mr. and Mrs. Jennings.
Mrs. and Mrs. Jennings have resided on Meade creek for 20 years.
In the evening the young folks of the neighborhood came in and danced
to Victrola music. Those who donated $5 each were: John Blane, O. J. White, C. M. Waisner, Mrs. Anna Babione, F. Spracklin, Fay Green, R. B. Williams, George
Harper, Emmitt Hudsonpiller, Emma Harper, Orr Baker, Pink Barnes, Joe Brown, Karl Johnson, Joe Harper, Hugh Snively, Vere Duncan, John Watson, Floyd Bard, C. W. Bard.
